Remington 597 High Capacity Magazine

As a bit of background, I own a Remington 597 in .22lr and was fed up with constantly having to do magazine changes whilst my friends with 10/22's just carried on shooting.
I decided to try and make a high capacity magazine for myself and after mentioning it to a few friends, realised that I may be onto something good if I could mass produce reliable magazines and so did some looking into it. My background is in Prototype engineering so I was off to a good start already. I've now got a design that I am happy with and works reliably, but the production methods I currently use for the prototypes and not cost effective. I'm looking at #200/$400 per prototype at the moment, and the material I'm using is only a soft resin so only lasts for a few rounds.

Putting somthing like this into production is not a simple job as the tooling alone for the mould to make the parts is about #23,000/$46,000 and then I have a minimum order of about 2500 units which I have to pay for up front. If I were a rich man it would simplify things a bit.

I'm in discussions with a company at the moment that may build the mould for me in return for equity in the company I've formed, and am also in ongoing discussion swith my bank for a business loan, so which ever one pays up first gets my business.

I set the original version of this website up to make sure that it wasn't just me and a few friends that were interested in hicap magazines and to establish a genuine demand for them. I envisaged a lot of UK shooters being interested, but I generally get a mail every couple of days from people showing an interest that are based all over the world.

I've put a button at the top of the page to inform me if you are interested and am keeping everyones e-mail address on record that is interested. When I have some suitable news, I will mail everyone. These address will not be shared under any circumstances, and any mails will have all recipients listed as BCC. It really helps me get a good understanding of the interest if people let me know they are interested, so please click on the button above if you are.
